Many of our customers have specific questions about our professional cleaning services. Here are just a few of the frequently asked questions we hear at Dust Bunnies of Erie.

Who hires a cleaning service and why?

We clean many homes in and around Erie, PA. Our clients are as varied as their homes! Here is a snap shot of who our clients are and why they need us:

  • Busy couples who spend their days at work and don’t want to spend their weekends cleaning
  • Families who are pulled in multiple directions, but still want a clean home while spending time with their kids
  • Retired folks who can’t do as much as they used to around the home
  • Singles who are busy with work and a social life
  • People who just want to come home to a clean house and relax!

How do you price the cost of my cleaning?

Several factors enter into pricing, such as the size and condition of your home, and how often you would like to have your home cleaned. Our preference is to come to your home to do a free estimate. This allows us to talk with you and find out your expectations.

Will I need to supply anything?

Dust Bunnies of Erie Cleaning Service brings all their supplies and equipment. We prefer to use our own supplies because of the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), which are required for each product we use. These sheets give our employees the necessary safety information required for the use of each product. However, if you prefer that we use your vacuum, or central vac system we are more than happy to do so.

We believe in keeping the environment as healthy as possible. If you request only green clean products be used in your home, we will be happy to comply with that request.

How do I pay for the cleaning?

Payment is expected upon completion of the cleaning. A check or cash may be left for the cleaners to pick up while they are at your home. MasterCard or Visa credit cards may be used, with arrangements being made ahead of time through the Office.

Must I be home while you are there cleaning?

It is entirely up to you if you prefer to be home. Most of our customers provide us access to their home while they are at work or out doing errands. Some let us in before they leave and others provide us with a key, garage door opener, or a code. All keys in our possession are marked with a number only, so the home address, etc., is not physically associated with the key unless the homeowner attaches it.

Do you offer a set time?

Unfortunately no. We can only give you an approximate time of arrival. Sometimes we have cancellations or new clients added to the schedule which will bump your times.

What if I forget the cleaners are scheduled and they are not able to get in?

We do assess a lockout fee if the cleaners are scheduled and find they are unable to get into the home. This fee is based on one hour or $40.00, depending on location of the home, size of the team, and if the team is able to continue to the next home on their list.

What does it mean to me for my cleaners to be insured and bonded?

Dust Bunnies of Erie Cleaning Service is fully insured and bonded, which means we are covered in case of injuries or damages while at your home. This is an area which is often overlooked when a homeowner decides to employ someone who is working independently, as you may not be aware of your personal liability for work related injuries and taxes, such as social security.

What if my cleaning falls on a holiday?

We will contact you ahead of time and reschedule your home. If you are traveling for the holidays you may want to skip service. If you know you will not need cleaning during a holiday, or know you have family coming to town and need to reschedule, please call ahead of time, and will do our best to accommodate.

What if something gets damaged in my home?

Our cleaners are instructed to treat our customer’s belongings with care and respect, however, accidents do happen. If this should occur while we are in your home the cleaners will leave a note, and we ask that you contact the office as soon as possible regarding replacement or refund.

Do you have an office I can visit?

We have a professional office in Lawrence Park. Stop by and visit any time, our hours are 8-4pm M-F. While most Erie cleaning people choose to operate out of their homes, we feel that an office conveys a higher level of professionalism and commitment both to our clients, our longevity, and our staff.
